A new grant program for Washington farmers and ranchers to implement more climate-smart practices has recently gone live.
The Sustainable Farms and Fields program was created by the Washington State Legislature in 2020. The Washington State Conservation Commission designed it with the support of the Washington State Department of Agriculture, Washington State University, and USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Ultimately, the Sustainable Farms and Fields program aims to increase climate resiliency, farm viability, and economic vitality through incentivizing carbon smart farming practices for farms and ranches of all sizes.
Conservation districts and other public entities can apply for Sustainable Farms and Fields grants to cover eligible activities.
Head to the Washington State Conservation Commission website for more information on the guidelines and a list of grant-eligible activities.
